At the beginning of the first world war, there were not such weapons like nuclear or biological bombs, but during the second world war, the United States, began to research something that would change the whole world in what concerns the wars.
When a nuclear bomb was first launched, was during the war between EEUU and Japan when the later refused to surrender, the former tried to finish the war by launching the first atomic weapon, “little boy”, on Hiroshima even though Japan did not give up. After that EEUU tried again dropping another bomb on Nagasaki which meant the end of the conflict.
Nowadays apart from nuclear bombs there are other sort of bombs called biological weapons, also known as bioweapon or bacteriological weapon. This can be used as a way of defending against other countries or States. The first hydrogen bomb was dropped on Marshall islands during a test of its effects.
The main countries that have either nuclear or biological weapons are The United States which first developed this weapons with The United Kingdom and Canada, Rusia which has the most amount of nuclear weapons in the world, The United Kingdom that has this weapons since 1952 and also developed the nuclear submarine and China which was the first Asian country who had nuclear bombs.
Furthermore, with the technology, it is not necessary to fly over a city with a plane and drop the bomb now that submarines had been invented, if a military group wants to launch a bomb they just have to press one button and at least they can launch a nuclear bomb from 10.000 miles of its target.
Currently, North Korea has been testing some nuclear bombs which made an earthquake detected by the United States that now are taking into account what to do and how to deal with this issue. Even though this kind of tests are forbidden.
In conclusion, the expense of nuclear bombs is too high to be spending money on it when now there are some other important issues that need our attention. Jorge Ramos 1ºX
India is a republic located in southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan and next to China and Nepal too.
Its capital is New Delhi and the most inhabited city is Bombay.
A few of the most important religions in the world, like the Hinduism or Buddhism were created by the Indian people years ago. Therefore India is such a big cultural country with many customs very different from ours. When they greet someone they join hands and bow their heads. It is also normal for the boys who are friends to walk hand in hand with each other.
Concerning the extension of the country it’s in the seventh position and also it’s the second most inhabited in the world. The inhabitants are still fighting for some of the social basic rights that a person ought to have.
It’s divided in 28 states and 7 territories of the union. The government they have is parliamentary democracy.
Regarding monuments and artistic patrimonies, India has one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal.
It is a palace that was built between 1631 and 1654.When the best wife of the emperor of Mongul died he decided to bury her in a special place all made with marble, so he and 20000 more people started to set up the Taj Mahal. Nowadays miles of people visit it every year.
But the point in this presentation was to talk about the social situation that this country has. India is one of the poorest countries in the world.
The situation of poverty that predominates in the country affects almost the 40 percent of the inhabitants. Partly this is caused by the social system they have, the castes of the Hinduism. This means a division of the population depending on which family they were born in. For instance there is one called The Invisibles, and everyone who belongs to it is not allowed to go out into the street during the day and if they do it they are arrested until they starve and die.
Another serious problem is the position of women in this society. The role they have is the reproduction and the really hard chores of the family or job from a very early age. Also women can be sold or neglected by the parents.
Everyday a big number of women are raped and injured by a male. The majority of cases are caused because of the poverty they have that ends up in violence and abuse against women.
